Payments, Cancellations & Refunds
Last updated:
1. Prices and Stripe payments
Current prices, billing frequency and plan benefits are displayed on the pricing page and at checkout. Swipe Drive fees pay for platform services, not for the advertised car. Payments use Stripe-hosted checkout and billing tools.
Private listing purchases are one-time payments. Dealer memberships are monthly recurring subscriptions until cancelled, subject to the particular trial or promotion. Landing on a payment-success page alone does not activate a listing or membership; payment or subscription confirmation is required.
2. Private seller listings
A private seller may have one live listing. Standard and Featured purchases currently cover a 30-day listing. Payment must complete successfully before activation; an unpaid initial advert should not be publicly active.
At expiry, or where a further payment is legitimately required, an advert may remain stored but hidden or frozen until resolved. This does not create an automatic recurring private seller charge. Removing an advert early does not itself settle a refund request; the rights below still apply.
3. Private sellers' consumer cancellation rights
If you buy a listing service as a consumer, mandatory UK consumer rights are unaffected. An online service contract normally has a 14-day cancellation period from agreement, subject to applicable law and exceptions. Email swipe.drive@outlook.com with your account email, listing or payment reference and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You do not need to give a reason when exercising a statutory cancellation right.
Starting the service during that period does not automatically remove the right to cancel. A proportionate charge for service already provided is only applicable where the law permits, including the required information and express request to start early. Loss of the cancellation right on full performance requires the legally required request and acknowledgement. We do not treat merely paying or seeing your advert go live as such an acknowledgement.
Where a statutory refund is due, we will make it within the legally required period, normally within 14 days of being informed of cancellation, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. Rights concerning a service that is not provided with reasonable care and skill or does not match its description also remain available.
4. Dealer subscriptions and business refunds
Dealer purchases are generally for business purposes. Cancellation stops future renewals, with benefits available for the remainder of an already-paid period unless restricted for a serious breach or another lawful reason. Check the effective cancellation date in Stripe's confirmation.
There is normally no automatic refund for a business billing period that has already started, unless required by law or agreed by Swipe Drive. We may issue discretionary refunds where appropriate, including after reviewing a service or billing problem. If you are legally a consumer, applicable consumer protections take precedence over this business wording.
Use Manage Payments in Account Tools or contact us if the portal cannot be opened. Closing your account or removing stock is not the same as cancelling a Stripe subscription.
5. Free periods and renewal
Free dealer periods vary by offer, promotion or code. The applicable duration and the monthly price afterwards must be stated at checkout or in the offer. No normal subscription charge is taken during the stated free period; unless cancelled before it ends, the subscription continues at the stated normal price.
Keep track of the renewal date in your billing information. We do not promise an automatic pre-charge reminder unless expressly included in your offer. Contact us before subscribing if the duration or future charge is unclear.
6. Failed payments, expiry and retained listings
If the initial required payment fails, the listing or subscription should not activate. If a dealer renewal fails, Stripe may retry where supported by the configured payment settings; benefits may be suspended and stock may be hidden or frozen while the issue is resolved.
Expired or unpaid adverts can remain stored initially rather than being deleted immediately. We may remove an inactive listing after six months without payment or activity. This is separate from retention of account, payment, dispute or legally required records under the Privacy Policy.
7. Refund requests, complaints and price changes
Send refund requests to swipe.drive@outlook.com with your account email, listing or plan, payment reference and relevant information. Never send a password or full card details. We will assess the request against your statutory rights, the service supplied and any specific offer.
No separate voluntary three-day money-back guarantee is currently offered by this policy. Discretionary refunds do not replace mandatory rights or restrict the time in which a lawful claim can be made.
Future prices may change. Existing subscribers will receive reasonable advance notice of a relevant recurring price change and its effective date. Such a contractual notice is not marketing and may be sent even if promotional email is disabled.
